Who is Nikita Roy?

Nikita Roy is a data scientist, journalist, and Harvard-recognized AI futurist driving innovation at the intersection of artificial intelligence and journalism.

She is the founder of Newsroom Robots Labs, an AI training and advisory firm for media organizations currently incubating at the Harvard Innovation Labs. Nikita also hosts the acclaimed Newsroom Robots Podcast, ranked among the top technology podcasts in over 30 countries on Apple Podcasts.

As a Knight Fellow at the International Center for Journalists, Nikita is leading initiatives to enhance AI literacy across the global news industry. She was instrumental in launching the AI Journalism Lab at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY—an initiative supported by Microsoft—where she continues to serve on the school’s AI Advisory Board.

A sought-after keynote speaker, Nikita’s insights have been featured by major outlets including BBC, CBC News, Quartz, Yahoo Finance, and Harvard’s Nieman Lab. She regularly delivers AI training and strategy workshops for leading institutions such as The Economist, The Boston Globe, Harvard University, Stanford University, and the University of Toronto.

Nikita currently serves as President of the Canadian Association of Journalists – National Capital Region chapter. An alumna of Harvard University and the University of Toronto, she is a prominent advocate for the responsible use of AI in journalism through advisory, product innovation, and hands-on education.
