Sonakshi Sinha’s ‘Nikita Roy’ Gets New Release Date, Now Hitting Theatres on June 27, 2025
Sonakshi Sinha’s much-awaited psychological thriller Nikita Roy has officially been rescheduled for release on June 27, 2025. Originally set to premiere on May 30, the film’s release has been pushed back for reasons that have not yet been disclosed by the makers.
The actress announced the update through her social media handle, saying,
“Mark your calendars! Our edge-of-the-seat thriller Nikita Roy now has a new release date! Catch the suspense unfold on the big screen on 27th June 2025!”
Directed by Kussh Sinha—Sonakshi’s brother—Nikita Roy marks his directorial debut. The film is described as a gripping psychological narrative, featuring an ensemble cast that includes Arjun Rampal, Paresh Rawal, and Suhail Nayyar in key roles.
The project is backed by producers Nicky Bhagnani, Vicky Bhagnani, and Ankur Takrani under the banners of Nicky Vicky Bhagnani Film, Kratos Entertainment, and Nikita Pai Films. Co-producers include Anand Mehta, Prakash Nand Bijlani, Shakti Bhatnagar, Mehnaaz Shaikh, and Prem Raj Joshi.
The film completed a tight 35-day shooting schedule in London earlier this year. Reflecting on the experience, Sonakshi said,
“It was a great shoot and a very special one for me as I got to star in my brother’s first film. The fine ensemble of the film inspired me to do more and better. It was my first time working with Paresh ji and what an honour to share screen space with him. The shoot was challenging and thus so much more enjoyable.”
Alongside Nikita Roy, Sonakshi Sinha is also gearing up for her debut in Telugu cinema with Jatadhara, a supernatural fantasy thriller directed by Venkat Kalyan. The film stars Sudheer Babu in the lead, along with Shilpa Shirodkar, Rain Anjali, and Divya Vij.
With two distinct and ambitious projects lined up, Sonakshi Sinha is poised to expand her presence across cinematic landscapes in both Bollywood and Tollywood.
